Postnatal Yoga is a fun class concentrating on exercises for postnatal recovery of the mother. Suitable from 4-6 weeks after birth this class provides an opportunity for Mums to do something for themselves! The babies watch, sleep, feed, play together or get involved in some of the exercises. Particular attention is paid to toning and strengthening the pelvic floor and abdominals. Muscle tension arising from feeding or carrying babies is alleviated by specific stretches which release and open the back and shoulders. Spinal and pelvic alignment exercises help improve posture and ease lots of the common aches and pains of new mums. Starting gently, we gradually build up to develop more strength, stamina and flexibility as the weeks go by. Postnatal yoga classes are very relaxed and flexible themselves, and babies often have their own ideas, so we adapt things to meet everybody’s needs. The relaxation, refreshments and chat all help Mums to feel refreshed and energised. You are welcome to come and try a class before signing up for a block.

Postnatal Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class
Last class this term will be 20 July. Classes resume 1 September, taking bookings.

Mother only class
This is a gentle yoga class that will focus on core-stability and releasing tension in shoulders and back, suitable postnatally as well as for people recovering from back problems or for beginners. Karin will take you through a series of traditional yoga postures with special attention to strengthening areas weakened after birth. She can help each student individually according to previous experience. All levels welcome!
This is a class for the mother and no special arrangements are made for babies.
£26 for 4 classes (classes are taught in 4 week blocks) or £7 drop in.
Classes are ongoing; you can join any time subject to availability. After first registration additional classes can be booked with your teacher. Classes run term time only.
It is recommended that you don’t join the class until after your 6 week check.

Postnatal Mum & Baby Yoga Class

Mother & baby class
Suitable for women from 6 weeks postnatally and offering gentle stretches to tone and nurture your postnatal body, ease tiredness and aid the transition into motherhood. Some baby yoga sequences and songs are included which make this a fun class for both mother and baby.
£60 (classes are taught in 6 week blocks). Drop-in class rate £12
